Talmadge Johnson, District
Superintendent
Talmadge Johnson is not new to the SWO District.
He grew up on this district, as his father, Dr. W. T. Johnson, served as
district superintendent on this district for twenty-eight years. He is a
general superintendent emeritus in the Church of the Nazarene having served from
June 2001 until retirement in July, 2005. At the time of his election, he
was serving as director of Sunday School Ministries, a position he had held
since July 1, 1994.
A graduate of SNU, Dr. Johnson received the Bachelor of
Arts and the Master of ARts degrees in religion. He has served the Church
of the Nazarene as an evangelist, pastor of Elk City First from 1961 to 1965,
founding pastor of OKC Western Oaks from 1965 to 1975, superintendent
of the Mississippi District from 1975 to 1980 and superintendent of the
Tennessee District from 1980 to 1994.
He and his wife, Genell, have two sons, Michael and
Jeffrey, who with their families serve in special ministries in the Church of
the Nazarene.

Sharon
Regester, Office Manager
In
January 2006 Sharon began serving
as Administrative Assistant to Dr. Summer after serving nine years as Office
Manager for the Dallas
District Office. Prior to that time, she
served several years as secretary for the Richardson Church of the
Nazarene. As a student at Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern
Nazarene University) Sharon began attending Western Oaks church and served
as office secretary for several years before moving to Texas.
She is the mother of Scott Regester, Bethany, OK and Tanya Thexton, Ft.
Worth, TX and
has six awesome grandchildren.

Juanita Porter,
Bookkeeper
Juanita Porter has worked part-time in the Southwest
Oklahoma District Office since 1995. For several years she and her late
husband, Dr. Bill Porter, served as SWO District Hispanic Coordinators. She
married Bill Porter in 1948. They have two sons, Dr. Jerry Porter and Dr. John
N. Porter. Juanita graduated from Bethany Peniel College (now Southern Nazarene
University) in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education.
Following graduation, the Porters served as pastors for two years, followed by
three years as teachers in the Spanish Nazarene Bible Institute in San Antonio,
Texas. In 1954 they were appointed as missionaries for the Church of the
Nazarene, serving in Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Venezuela and Spain for a total
of 42 years.
